Posting Guidelines
Divorce can be messy, painful, freeing—often all at the same time. Wherever you are in your journey, your story is welcome here. To help keep this a caring space for everyone, please follow these guidelines when posting or commenting.
- Share your experience: Please don’t post someone else’s story without their permission, copy another person’s writing, or present a made-up story as a personal experience.
- Protect your privacy and other people’s, too: Use pseudonyms and leave out identifying details about former partners, children, relatives, and anyone else involved. Don’t share full names, addresses, contact information, workplaces, social media handles, or identifying details. Don’t share private messages, recordings, or legal documents that expose someone’s identity or personal information.
- Treat each other with care: Anger, grief, relief, and uncertainty all belong here. Personal attacks, threats, bullying, hate speech, and degrading comments do not. Different choices and experiences are welcome; judging or shaming someone for staying, leaving, parenting decisions, finances, faith, or relationships is not.
- Offering Advice: Offer encouragement and advice only when the poster has requested so. Don’t diagnose other people or present legal, financial, or medical advice as professional guidance.
- Give readers a gentle heads-up about sensitive content: Please add a brief content note before discussing abuse, sexual violence, self-harm, or other potentially distressing experiences. Graphic descriptions are not permitted.
- Keep this space free from promotion and solicitation: Please don’t post advertisements, spam, fundraising requests, dating approaches, or offers of paid services. Don’t use someone’s vulnerability as an opportunity to sell to them or pursue unwanted contact.
- Respect stories beyond this website: Don’t copy, screenshot, or repost someone else’s story outside this community without their explicit permission. Remember that anything you post online may still be copied or shared, so include only what you feel comfortable making public.
- How we care for this space: All posts are reviewed before posting. We may remove posts or comments that don’t follow these guidelines and restrict accounts when needed.
- Thank you for helping make this a place where women can speak honestly, feel heard, and be treated with dignity.
